My name is Jenn Lamb and I am the creator of a Dash of Macros.
Thank you so much for visiting my site. First of all I want you to know, nothing makes me happier than people eating my food. I created A Dash of Macros as a way to able to share my passion for food with the world. I wish I could personally feed everyone because seeing someone take their first bite make me happier than you can imagine. I say “The way to ANYONES heart is thru their stomach”.
I went to art school at the College of Creative studies in Detroit Michigan. Since graduating I never really used my art degree in my career. I found myself working in property management and only using my art degree on the side; painting and creating art for my family, friends, and my own walls.
However, I did find a love for food and that is when my plate become my canvas. I began teaching myself how to cook, reading/collecting cook books, watching every food network show there was. All the while honing my craft and love for food. We all know we eat with our eyes first, so not only do I focus on my food tasting amazing, I want it to look pretty, which is where my background in art is now being used!
A few years ago, I discovered counting macros and meal prep.
At the time I was counting macros to lose about 30 pounds after breaking my foot. But I found myself eating the same meals every few weeks to meet my macro goals, and I wasn’t enjoying cooking anymore. I needed to get out of that rut. That’s when it hit me, how I can share my passion with the world by creating recipes that are easy to adjust to meet an individuals macro or calories. To provide people with a wide range of delicious recipes each week that are great for meal prep, which is key to sticking to your macro and calorie goals. Allowing you to step out of your routine/comfort zone and try new recipes each and every week!
Although these recipes are not just for meal prep, they can be eaten as a regular meal a day of the week. No need to prep if you have the time to cook! And hey, if there are leftovers, there’s your prep…lunch for the next day!
That is where A Dash of Macros was born.
Discovering counting macros and meal prep changed the way I looked at food. I am now an expert in understanding how proteins, carbohydrates, and fats play a role in our diets:
- How they affect weight
- Lean muscle
- Overall health
What is counting macros, you say? Here is a quick description:
Counting macros is a more in-depth way of counting calories, focusing on the macro nutrients that make up each calorie.
Take a look around, check out my recipes. Nothing makes me happier than feeding people and since I can’t feed everyone, this is the best that I can do!
I would love to hear from you, especially if you tried any of my recipes. Let me know how much you liked them, by adding a comment to that specific recipe.

- Two compartment glass containers
- Three compartment glass containers
- Glass 16 oz Mason Jars
